Designs are based on the program established during the initial consultation. The complexity of the design is proportional to the complexity of the project. The following steps are preformed during the design process to ensure clear communication between the designer and the client and an accurate depiction of the project.

Site Analysis
The design process starts with a thorough site study. A base map of the parameters of the project is created depicting all existing pertinent features (structures, driveway, trees, topography, etc.). An accurate base map is key to an accurate depiction of the project.

Preliminary Design
The preliminary design is then developed to best fit the program and the site. It's basically the bones of the design. A preliminary review will be requested for the client to assess the designer's solutions and recommendation. Refinements to elements of the design, material selections and estimated project costs will all be discussed.

Final Design
Once the preliminary design has been fine tuned to the clients satisfaction the final design is created. The final design is a scaled working drawing(s) depicting all facets of the project. The plan is thoroughly labelled and will include a plant list, material specifications, legends and detail drawings when needed. The final design will be used by the contractor(s) and/or the client to implement the landscape project.

Project management services range from scheduled site inspections at crucial stages in the project to overseeing the implementation of the entire project. The ultimate goal is to fulfill the client's expectations by ensuring the integrity of the design is preserved during the installation process.

The purpose of the consultation is to advise, educate and if a landscape plan is anticipated, to develop a program based on the clients expectations for the project.

Every landscape project is unique to the needs of the client and the site on which it is to be implemented. Theme, lifestyle, recreation, entertainment requirements and most importantly budget, are all topics to be explored during the consultation.

Regardless of how large or small a project, a site evaluation is crucial to its successful implementation. Site topography, soil composition, seasonal sun patterns, existing vegetation, existing structures, interior and exterior views are just a few of the site conditions that should be studied. By incorporating the clients needs into a sound site evaluation an optimal program can be established.
